The effect of war on the prevalence of diabetes in the Syrian community and the control of diabetes among the patients
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic syndrome and it represents a major health issue worldwide during peace time. However, war and crisis enlarges this issue especially in the developing countries. The war in Syria has affected all aspects of life including the general health and well-being. As blood sugar might be affected by stress, anxiety and other psychological factors, this study will investigate the psychological stress factors of war in Syria on the prevalence of diabetes and the control of diabetes among the patients.
